About Yew Records
Yew Records is a label for creative, contemporary jazz and was founded in 2021 by jazz pianist Constantin Krahmer. The labels musical focus is on original, composed music with a high improvisational content.
Yew Records adapts to the realities of the music market and focuses on digital release, complemented by limited-edition CDs. The label is based in Rostock, Germany.
About Constantin
Constantin Krahmer studied jazz piano in Cologne until 2011 and has been active as a freelance musician (piano/synthesizer) since then. In the fall of 2021 he moved to Rostock and brings the vibrant atmosphere of the Cologne jazz scene to Rostock through his playing.
He is a sought-after sideman in many ensembles (Maik Krahl Quartet, Zuzana Leharovà Quartet, Ampair:e, etc.) and active with his own projects such as his quartet "Close Up" and his trio (feat. Leif Berger/Thomas Morgan).
In addition, starting in December 2021, he will curate the monthly concert series BRON, in which he will invite exciting Scandinavian and German musicians to Rostock to play with him concerts at the Peter-Weiss-Haus.
Since November 2021 he also teaches piano at the Rostock College of Music.
